Princess Diana Princess Diana had royal blood in her veins it is true ( she was a descendant of King Charles 1 of England ) but she was a princess who let her human side show to the world. She battled various inner demons such as bulimia, suicidal tendencies and depression. Her relationship with her husband, Prince Charles, was a rocky one...which was probably one of her biggest heartaches...the fairytale wedding was just that...a fantasy, and as the reality hit home, along with betrayal, media and public expectations, she was often overwhelmed and coped in less than healthy ways. However, she was a down-to-earth person who was honest about her weaknesses and she chose to grow and learn from her mistakes. People around the world respected Princess Diana's attitude and listened to what she had to say. The common person could relate to her personal challenges and saw her as a courageous, strong, compassionate woman who had the capacity to overcome her weaknesses and were thus inspired by her. Diana developed her strength by demonstrating her compassion for the underprivileged and needy of the world. She championed various causes, especially those people suffering from Aids, domestic abuse, and injuries and losses sustained from abandoned landmines. She traveled thousands of miles and worked tirelessly in support of her favorite causes, often taking her beloved sons, William and Harry, with her so that they could develop an appreciative attitude towards those less fortunate than they. She was the first high-profile person to be photographed touching an Aids sufferer. This photograph of her simple act of kindness did so much to soften the world's attitude towards Aids victims and helped their cause immeasurably. Princess Diana's life was cut off prematurely when being chased by paparazzi in Paris. Her chauffeur was driving too fast and under the influence of alcohol and prescription drugs.
