Keanu will not travel without these three things: his motorcycle, his hockey stick and his books.

Keanu Reeves Biography

" a bourgeois middle class white boy with an absent father, a strong-willed mother and two beautiful sisters"         Keanu Reeves

Keanu Reeves was born in Beirut, Lebanon on September 2,1964. His mom, Patricia, is of British descent and his dad is Hawaiian-Chinese. His name actually means "cool breeze over the mountains" in Hawaiian. His mom was working in a Beirut nightclub when she met Samuel Reeves who was a geologist.

They married and had two children, Keanu and his younger sister, Kim. When the marriage ended shortly thereafter, Patricia took her two children to New York City, and then settled in Toronto with her new husband, Paul Aaron, a film and stage producer and director from New York.

Keanu Reeves describes himself as a " bourgeois middle class white boy with an absent father, a strong-willed mother and two beautiful sisters". Believe me, he is much more than that, as demonstrated when he very generously gave more than half of his earnings for the "Matrix" sequels to the background heroes that made the films so great: the costume and special effects team members.

And that isn't the first time he has shown how generous he is...he also gave each of the stuntmen involved in the shooting of "Matrix Reloaded" their own Harley Davidson motorcycle! Keanu enjoys sharing his good fortune! "Money is the last thing I think about. I could live on what I have already made for the next few centuries", he has said. That may be true, but he still made the choice to share his earnings, which makes him quite a unique person.

Keanu has experienced success both in film and on the stage. His stage debut  was "Wolfboy" in 1984 and his motion picture debut was in a Canadian film "Dream to Believe". His first big break in the States was in the movie "Youngblood". Keanu left Toronto for Hollywood in 1986 with $3000.00, an old Volvo and his stepfather's address...and he  hasn't looked back since!
